TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - This year's dry season has dried up 23 reservoirs in Lamongan District, East Java. From a total of 44 reservoirs and swamps in the district, only 35,814,998 cubic meters of water are available for the public.
"Parts of [the reservoirs and swamps] have dried up," said Handoyono, Head of Operations and Maintenance Division at the Lamongan Public Works Department on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
The Lamongan Regional Disaster Management Agency feared that the drought will spread to 27 other sub-districts.
The agency has prepared four tanker trucks to distribute clean water to the drought affected regions. Each truck could contain an average of 6,000 liters.
