TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The first impression on hand when holding an Andromax R 4G is its lightweight. This is because the Indonesian tech company Smartfren plants 2200 mAh battery on its latest smartphone.

The main charm of Andromax R is that it supports 4G network that allows video streaming relatively smooth without any interruption. It’s RAM has also increased to 1 gigabyte although this is still low compared to other phones in its class. Internal memory of 8 gigabyte extendable to 32 gigabyte Micro SD is provided.

The five-inch screen is provided with IPS tech and high definition resolution (720x1,280). It’s front camera comes with 5 MP resolution and it’s rear camera comes with 8 MP resolution, promising clear photo results. LED flash on the phone is a good feature to have for photo-taking in low light areas.

The other charm is that the phone run on recently-launched Android Lollipop and Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 1.2 gigahertz quadcore processor. It uses Adreno 306 as the graphic card. Both Adreno and Qualcomm are global brand that usually installed on premium phones.

Offered at Rp1.6 million, Andromax R is competing with Lenovo A6000 (Rp2 million) and Asus Zenfone 5 (Rp1.8 million).

Compared to Lenovo’s A6000, Andromax is superior in its processor and front camera resolution. However the Chinese manufacturer beats Andromax R with a slightly better battery capacity 2,300 mAh. Users of the both phones, however, need to carry around power bank to make sure the phones are up all day for calling and browsing.
