TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno claimed he had sent a protest note to Malaysia regarding alleged territorial violation in Ambalat, North Kalimantan.
“The TNI has filed the violation report and it has been forwarded to the Foreign Affairs Ministry,” said Tedjo on Sunday.
However, Ferry Adamhar, director for law and international agreement at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, said the Foreign Affairs Ministry had not yet sent the protest note to Malaysia because up until last Friday, he had not received the coordinate point from the TNI
The TNI claimed they had sent the coordinate point to Minister Tedjo two weeks ago.
Malaysia allegedly violated the border in Ambalat. The Air Force has deployed two F-16 Fighting Falcon and two Sukhoi aircraft to monitor Ambalat.
Up until this mid-year, nine Malaysian fighter aircraft have allegedly entered Indonesian airspace illegally. Indonesia has sent protest notes to Malaysia twice.
