TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – After three years of sales, Apple axed the original iPad mini by removing it from its website and Apple Store.
Since its first introduction in 2012, the device was being sold for US$249 for the 16GB model.
The device was the last iOS device Apple sold without a Retina display, with a 1024 x 768 or 163 ppi display. The device was also the last iPad running on a 32-bit framework.
Refurbished iPad minis are still available for purchase, while some resellers will still have some stocks available for the time being.
The move to scrub the original iPad mini follows Apple’s previous move to delete the iPod from its website menu.
According to Digital Spy, last year Apple retired the iPod Classic by deciding to stop selling the device.
