TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A new social media site has been launched by Anonymous people to challenge existing social media giants with data security feature. The social media site, named Minds.com, is committed to privacy, security and transparency about how posts are promoted, The Independent reported.

While Minds.com, has basic options that are similar to those available in other social networks such as status or picture updates, and followers who can comment and read their updates, the site encrypt all messages posted by users. Therefore, advertisers and governments can not read users’ data.

Other flagship feature offered by the site is that it rewards active users with points that can be redeemed for views. It means that a user’s profile will get more promotion if she/he is actively interacting with posts by commenting, uploading, etc.

Carrying out a slogan that says “network that rewards you with reach”, the site is available as desktops and phone applications. Android users can download the app from Playstore.

Since the site is an open source platform, anyone can contribute to the design and upkeep of the network.

“Let us collaborate to help build minds.com and other open-source, encrypted networks to co-create a top site of the people, by the people and for the people”, a message posted by an anonymous-affiliated page, said ‘ART Revolution’ as quoted by The Independent.
