TEMPO.CO, Bandung - PT Pos Indonesia launched a special edition envelope commemorating the 60th Asia-Africa Conference (AAC) on Friday, April 24, 2015.

"The [60th AAC edition] envelope is as important as stamp. The envelope is also attached with AAC-themed stamp, seal and picture," Tata Sugiarta, the philately manager at PT Pos Indonesia, told Tempo on Friday, April 24, 2015.

According to Tata, the envelope will be signed personally by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on the sideline of the AAC commemorative summit in Bandung today, April 24, 2015.

"But since the [President's] schedule was tight, the envelope signing will be rescheduled. Because [the envelope] has been released today, the president director [of PT Pos Indonesia] conducted the launch at Jalan Banda," Tata added.

Tata explained that Pos Indoesia only made 4,000 copies of the envelope, sold at the post offices at a price of Rp 10,000. Tata added that avid collectors have set their eyes on the envelope, particularly those who have collected all eight postal stationeries of the AAC series released since 1955.

Tata added that PT Pos Indonesia could not release the 60th AAC stamp since a commemorative stamp can only be released once in every 25 years.

"We have released a stamp to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the AAC," Tata explained.
