Foreign Investors Express Interest to Build Super Fast Train

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy of Infrastructure Affairs of the National Development Planning Agency Dedy S. Priyatna said that Chinese investors have expressed their interest to build high-speed rail line connecting Jakarta and Bandung.
Although Japanese investors have finished the fist phase of the feasibility study of the Dedy said that the government had also given an opportunity for the Chinese investors to do the study.
“The President decided that both sides could do the feasibility study. For Chinese investors, they are given time until December 2015 to do the feasibility study because it is expected that the groundbreaking will be done in 2019,” Dedy said on Friday, 10 April 2015.
The high-speed rail line is estimated to span 140 kilometer from Dukuh Atas in Jakarta to Gedebage in Bandung.
This project is estimated to require an investment worth around US$6.22 billion and with this super fast train, trip from Jakarta to Bandung will last for only 37 minutes.
