Pertamina Trans Kontinental Procures Seven New Ships

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) has continued to expand its business network by procuring US$49.9 million worth of new ships. Pertamina marketing director Ahmad Bambang said Pertamina has bought two anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) ships and five harbour tug ships.
“We have set a target to generate a total income of US$9 million from the ships this year” Ahmad said in press release received by Tempo on Sunday, March 29, 2015.
Ahmad added that Pertamina trusted PT Batamec and PT Dry Dock World Pertama to build those ships. Ahmad said that the new ships were aimed to realize budget efficiency
PTK president director Subagjo Hari Moeljanto said the new ships will be used to support offshore oil and gas exploration. Both AHTS, Subagjo added, will operate in Balikpapan waters to serve Total E&P Indonesia. In addition the harbor tug ships will operate at Pertamina’s Oil and Gas Terminal.
According to Subagjo, the AHTS ships have the potential to generate an income of US$9,000 per day, and the harbor tug ships will contribute US$3,400 per day.
