TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Taiwanese notebook vendor and motherboard producer ASUS has released the PadFone S, a quad-core Android KitKat 5-inch smartphone that is able to transform into an 8.9-inch tablet.
ASUS Indonesia press release said the PadFone S featured a 4G LTE that supported data processing speed of up to 150Mbps.
The PadFone S is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.3GHz with a full HD screen resolution and IPS feature for a very wide viewing angle.
The processor makes the 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) recording have four times larger resolution compared to a full HD. Even playing a 3D quality game will run smooth without any lags thanks to a 2GB RAM.
“When a user is in need of a multimedia device, just by inserting the smartphone to its station, the user will get an 8.9 inch tablet with a high resolution (1920x1200),” Juliana Cen, the country product group leader of ASUS Indonesia, said in a statement.
The station is packed with dual front stereo speakers with ASUS SonicMaster technology, along with an additional 4,999mAh battery.
The Padfone S has a 13MP rear camera with a dedicated ISP, auto-focus, aperture f/2.0, 5-element lens and PixelMaster for low-light photography for photos and videos.
The smartphone is also capable of capturing up to 400% brighter in a lowlight environment compared to normal smartphone cameras. A 2MP rear camera and a 1MP front camera is also provided on the tablet.
ASUS claimed the smartphone as “Super Durable” with splash-proof level IPX2, making it water resistant. A drop-proof is claimed to make the PadFone S withstand a 1.5 meter steel-surface drop.
The ASUS PadFone S sells at Rp3,799,000 (for the smartphone) and 4,499,000 (for the smartphone + station).
