TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government has appointed Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Chairul Tanjung, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, and State Secretary Minister Sudi Silalahi to bridge the transition of outgoing and new governments.
"We were appointed to represent the president [SBY] to talk with the administration of the president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo," Chairul Tanjung said at his office yesterday.
President SBY has started a new tradition in conducting the governmental transition by holding a meeting with president-elect Jokowi at the State Palace in Nusa Dua, Bali, last Wednesday.
The meeting was held for the first time since the Constitutional Court (MK) ruled in favor of Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla as the winner of the last presidential election. Chairul said both leaders have discussed about state affairs.
"I have no knowledge of the details [of the discussion]. President SBY and Jokowi held a private meeting," said Minister Chairul.
