TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama has planned on resuming the discussions on the concept of transforming the capital into a smart city. Ahok added the installation of closed-circuit televisions across the city and the use of waste energy were among the topics highlighted in the concept.
Ahok said the next discussion would take place in a coordination meeting involving a number of city officials, including those from the Development and Environment Secretary office, the Regional Development Planning Agency, the Regional Financial Planning Agency, the Transportation Agency, the Public Works Agency, the Public Information and Communications Agency, the Sanitary Agency, the Public Order Agency, the Urban Infrastructure Agency and the Environment and Spatial Planning Agency.
Earlier, Ahok said the smart city concept would turn the capital into a dream city. “People can enjoy free Wi-Fi everywhere,” he said.
Ahok said the concept had lured support from a host of telecommunications operators, including state-owned telecommunications company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, which had equipped five public parks in the capital with free Wi-Fi facilities.
