TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sarwo Handayani, chief of Monorail Project Cooperation Agreement (PKS) Review Team, said that the discussion on monorail project still continues.
"Discussion on principles for building stations and depots," he said on Monday. The Jakarta Spatial Planning is currently conducting the review.
Discussion on new cooperation agreement on monorail project has been halted for several months. The team had previously promised a new cooperation agreement would be completed on March 2014, but there has been no agreement signed.
Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo had stated that the PKS was delayed because he wanted it to be carefully formulated as the monorail project had been stalled for 10 years.
Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama had repeatedly expressed doubts on this project, particularly on property. PT Jakarta Monorail had expressed their desire to have property rights up to 80 percent, following the company's reluctance to sign a deal that if the monorail project was halted, then the properties must be handed over to the Jakarta provincial government to be confiscated.
