TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Wonderful Bengkulu Community has broken the record of MURI (Indonesia World Records Museum) for the mass fish-roasting by roasting 12 ton of fish on 12-kilometer fish-roasting party yesterday.
"Kalimantan had done 9-kilometer mass fish-roasting; Bengkulu has now just done the 12-kilometer," said the chief of the committee, Amri Wicahyono, during the event.
The Wonderful Bengkulu Community has spent days to prepare the record-breaking day. As many as 3,000 units of roasting pans participants, including residents, students, and tree-huggers throughout Bengkulu were engaged in the event. Pieter, one of the committee members said free coupons for the event had been distributed prior to the event.
Despite the heavy rain, people in Bengkulu were enthusiastically rejoiced the feast which was held along Panjang Beach up to Marlboro Beach.
