TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The movie Laskar Pelangi (The Rainbow Troops) 2: Edensor will hit the big screen starting from December 24. The adaptation of Andrea Hirata's third sequel of The Rainbow Troops novel is reported to be entertaining yet full of education and struggle messages.
"I am satisfied with The Rainbow Troops 2: Edensor movie which is directed by Benni Setiawan. The film is entertaining yet educative. I hope that this film will inspire Indonesian people who are studying abroad," said Andrea Hirata in the premiere gala in Epicentrum Kuningan, Jakarta.
"I am lucky that from the beginning, my novels are adapted by talented directors who have their own tastes. Although, I realize that the story in the novel is not as strong as the story in the film," said Andrea.
The film tells the story of two Belitong boys, Ikal and his cousin Arai, who are studying in Sorbonne University, France. In addition to exposing the beauty of France, the film also presenting story about love, friendship, and the two boy's goal-seeking.
