TEMPO.CO, Lamongan- A company of the Indonesian National Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) was deployed in Gowah Village, Lamongan, earlier today to contain the clash between local residents and the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI). "The police will deploy more personnel if the situation remains unsecure," said Commissioner Umar Dami, Lamongan Police Spokesman.
Commissioner Umar mentioned that as many as 93 Mobile Brigade personnel were deployed in two teams. A platoon of 31 personnel were stationed in Lamongan, and a another platoon of 63 personnel were deployed on scene.
Umar said that the personnel has been put on full alert across the northern coastline of Paciran District, Lamongan. The police also keeping an eye on the border between Paciran and Brondong, as weel as the border between Paciran and Bungah in an effort to prevent the clash from spreading.
