Papua KPU Office Catches Fire
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The General Elections Commission (KPU) office in Central Memberamo, Papua, caught fire a day after the regional head elections. However, it is still uncertain what caused the fire. Papua Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. I Gede Sumerta Jaya said the fire occurred at 2 a.m. local time on Wednesday, January 30. “We’re still investigating the cause,” said the spokesman. The police spokesman added that the Wamena Precinct chief was on his way to the scene. The location is quite remote, 18 hours by land or 45 minutes by plane. RUSMAN PARAQBUEQ
