4 Public Facilities in Pedestrian Lane around Asian Games Venue

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The pedestrian pathways in the capital city areas have been renovated ahead of the Asian Games 2018. The revitalization is conducted particularly in Senayan, Sudirman, and several points in Central Jakarta, around the venue of the sports event.

Based on Tempo observation on Tuesday, July 31, the sidewalks along Jl. Asia-Afrika, near Gerbang Pemuda, has been beautified and soon the pedestrian lane in Jl. Sudirman, adjacent to Gelora Bung Karno statue, will be ready.

Other than renovating the pedestrian lane, the regional government also provide several public facilities as follows.

1. Park bench

Park bench is installed along the pedestrian route on Jl. Sudirman. Located behind the bus stops, people traveling on foot can take a rest and sit on the bench under the trees.

2. Yellow line for those with disabilities

The pedestrian pathways also friendly for people with disabilities because the yellow guiding block has been built in.

3. Bicycle lane 

A special way for the bicycle is provided on the sidewalk of Jl. Asia-Afrika, Central Jakarta. The greenway stretches along the outer ring road of Gelora Bung Karno, near the Gate 10.

4. Recycle trash bin

This is the most vital facility, the trash bin. The installed trash bin along the pedestrian lane around the Asian Games venue has particular boxes namely for organic and inorganic waste, as well as for cigarette butts.

Unfortunately, the waste management is not running well considering many people still not aware of separating their trashes and put it in the particular bin based on the type of the trash.
