TEMPO.CO, Cirebon – The construction of the Cirebon II steam power plant will start nearing the end of 2015. The 1x1,000-MW power plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
Heru Dewanto, President Director of PT Cirebon Energi Prasarana (CEPR), the developer of Cirebon II power plant, said the power plant would have a greater electricity generating capacity than its predecessor the Cirebon I plant, which has 660-MW capacity.
Construction is carried by PT Cirebon Electric Power, Cirebon II power plant will be built in Kanci village in the, Astanajapura sub-district.
Heru said the Cirebon II power plant will increase the capacity of power plants in Java-Madura-Bali. "It will also add 4.5 million new subscribers in Indonesia."
