TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The President of PSSI Erick Thohir informed that Indonesia is ready to host the U-17 World Cup 30 days before the event starts. "The preparation stage is at 90 percent," he said in an official statement on Monday.
The four stadiums set to host the games in Surabaya, Jakarta, Solo, and Bandung are considered ready. The existing reparations are minor and are conducted at a brisk pace by the regional government with the support of the PUPR Ministry.
"On October 27, the venues for the U-17 World Cup will be handed over to FIFA. There are two types of venues, the match venue, and the training field. All request by FIFA to improve the standards has been fulfilled. Indonesia is ready to host [World Cup]," Erick said in Jakarta.
Erick is also optimistic about reaching the supporters' target of 10,000 people set by FIFA for each game by conducting various innovations to attract the audience. For example, the family ticket bundling. With this ticket bundle, football enthusiast will be able to directly watch the match in stadiums with their families.
"There will be many world football stars, which is an attraction in itself. The Indonesian football condition is quite conducive in recent times, along with the increase of achievement by the Indonesian national team," he said.
The organizing committee of the U-17 World Cup also offer the Trophy Experience as one of the promotional activity. The Trophy Experience will allow the audience to the match to witness the World Cup Trophy in four host cities.
The trophies will be displayed at HI Roundabout, Jakarta on October 15, Gedung Sate, Bandung on October 22, Balai Pemuda, Surabaya on October 29, and Gapura Ngarsopuro, Pura Mangkunegaran, Solo on November 5. Meanwhile, the U-17 World Cup will start on November 10.
