3,000 Participants Follow National Cycling Event in Maros

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - More than 3,000 people packed the Palantikan Square, to follow the whole series of the 2018 Kemenpora (Youth and Sports Ministry) National Cycling event, in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, Sunday, November 25.


The sports activities include the 10-kilometer leisurely cycling, Let’s Exercise, and leisurely walking followed by the teachers because it coincides with the 2018 National Teacher’s Day celebration.


The 2018 Maros National Cycling event was officially released by the Maros Regent M. Hatta Rahman who was accompanied by Assistant Deputy of Kemenpora Recreational Sports Management Teguh Raharjo, along with all Regional Work Unit (SKPD) and District Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) at the Regency level.


In his remarks, Regent Hatta Rahman said that the enthusiasm for exercising of Maros residents has increased through the National Cycling event, he hoped that they would be able to cultivate sports so that they could get the healthy life.


“We thank the Kemenpora, through its presence, we are more eager to exercise,” said Hatta Rahman.


The Kemenpora Recreational Sports Management Assistant, Teguh Raharjo, claimed that it was the result of cooperation and the synergy between the central administration and the local administration.


“The community participation to exercise is very extraordinary, from children, adolescents to adults. The city administration is present in the community, where the vision and mission are right on target and materialized, making the community be Healthy Indonesia, Fit Indonesia,” Teguh said about Kemenpora National Bicycle.
