TEMPO.CO, Serang - The Provincial Government of Banten is preparing to revitalize historic tourist area, Banten Lama or Old Banten, in Kasemen District, Serang City. The local government is preparing a budget of Rp220 billion for the project.
Banten Governor Wahidin Halim said the budget will be allocated in stages for three fiscal years, starting from this year.
The first allocation, Wahidin said on Wednesday, is for the 2018 Banten Regional Budget amounting to Rp100 billion.
Wahidin said the budget will be used to organize and revamp the Masjid Agung or Grand Mosque's pilgrimage tour area in Banten Village, repair the main road from the city center to Old Banten, as well as small roads around the cultural heritage area.
