TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Cell phones are the most common device that has become an integral part of people nowadays. While in fact, it produces electromagnetic waves and that excessive use is harmful to body health.


Devra Lee Davis, Ph.D., M.P.H., the director of the Board on Environmental Studies and Toxicology in the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, explained cell phone radiation caused many health problems.


Therefore, it is safe to keep your phone in the right place to reduce the risk of radiation. Tempo outlined three places you must avoid placing your cell phone in the following.


1. Below the pillow


Many people place cell phones under the pillow as it functions as a morning alarm. However, such a habit can build up the heat and increase the risk of fire. Besides, LED lights from the screen can beset your sleep quality.


2. Bathroom


It is not a good idea to bring your cell phones to the toilet considering bacteria and viruses will end up in your cell phone surface and then to your hands and face while the use.


3. Pants pocket


According to the chiropractor and therapist Lilly Friedman, MD, keeping cell phones in the pocket is the worst, moreover, if it is on and connected to the wireless network because the radiation is two to seven times higher than if it is placed in a purse.
