TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Kramatjati Police Hospital provides free hyperbaric therapy for divers who evacuate Lion Air JT 610 wreckage and the bodies of the victims, in order to break down toxic inside the divers' bodies.

“When diving under the sea, the diver's body may contain nitrogen. This therapy can remove nitrogen that becomes toxic in the body," said Vice Disaster Victim Identification Commander Sr. Comr. Triawan Marsudi at Kramatjati Police Hospital, Tuesday, November 6.

The hyperbaric therapy is a therapy by inhaling 100 percent pure oxygen in a room with high-pressure air. The therapy helps to prevent the divers from decompression.

A total of 19 divers of police officials and one volunteer diver in the evacuation of Lion Air JT 610 had undergone hyperbaric therapy until Monday.
