TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Thousands of diet types are available for you to follow based on your needs and ability, such as mayo, ketogenic, Obsessive Corbuzier's Diet, blood type diet, and others.

Before you commit to starting any program of diet, a healthy life influencer Geraldy Marcell explained four keys to get a successful diet.

1. Time

Know when you have to eat and stop. “Eat before you are hungry and stop before you are full,” said Geraldy on Wednesday, Oct 24, in an event at Ruang Bersatu, Ruang dan Tempo, Jakarta.

It is also important to pay attention to time to have heavy meals and snacks. Starting from breakfast, light meals between breakfast and lunch, lunch, lunch break, and dinner.

2. Source

The basis of the diet is to have more protein intake, not calories. Thus, it is recommended to choose brown rice instead of the white one. Or you can replace rice with wheat, potatoes, or sweet potatoes because potatoes contain more water, compared to rice that is loaded sugar.

3. Way to process foods

Change your way in processing foods, frying to grilling or steaming. If you do not like the bland taste of steamed food, Geraldy added, you can stir-fry it. However, keep in mind to use healthy oils, such as olive oil and sunflower seed oil.

4. Calculate the calories

Try to eat calories below your need. For example, a woman needs 2,000 calories each day, and so you have to take a calorie deficit. Choose your own meal that not exceed your calorie need. "Note that calorie needs also depend on activity and age," he said.
