KPU: Bicycle Price Given by Jokowi Not Campaign

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commissioner of the General Election Commission (KPU) Wahyu Setiawan said that bicycles price given by President Jokowi or land certificates distribution were not part of the presidential election campaign. According to Wahyu, it was the duty of the president, not Jokowi as a presidential candidate.

“Because the incumbent candidate is a president,” Wahyu said in his office, Friday, September 28.

President Jokowi said he no longer gave bicycles to the public while conducting his work visit during his candidacy in the 2019 election. He admitted it was aimed at avoiding quarrel among the society since the campaign period has already started.
