Goyang Karawang Festival Becomes Annual Agenda

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Karawang Regent Cellica Nurrachadiana stated that the Goyang (Dance) Karawang Festival would be held regularly every year. The first festival was held at the Candi Jiwa complex, Karawang, on 2-23 September.
“Goyang Karawang Festival was the first to be held,” Cellica said.
She said the festival did not only introduce Karawang tourist destinations but also as the momentum to introduce local wisdom.
The festival is also claimed as a form of appreciation to local artists of Karawang in order to be creative, produce works of art that are useful for the community.
“Karawang has been widely known as Goyang Karawang because of its art. Because of it, we hold this event,” she said.
In the Goyang Karawang Festival, the artists from 20 provinces appeared to show their respective works. They came from West Java, Central Java, East Java, Sumatra, Jambi, Banten, Lampung, and Papua.
