TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Aceh Ulema Council (MPU) chairman Muslim Ibrahim said Measles Rubella (MR) vaccine is allowed in an emergency condition.

“We agree that MR vaccine is haram because it contains pig, but in an emergency context, it is allowed,” said Ibrahim after the consultation meeting regarding MR vaccine in Meuligoe Hall of Aceh Deputy Governor, Wednesday, September 19.

He mentioned MPU Aceh had not yet studied the vaccine because the council regulation was based on the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Edict.
