TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Korea Tourism Organization Director Andrew Jonghoon Kim said tourists from Indonesia spent US$13,000 (around Rp18,8 million) while traveling in Korea for 4 days. “The highest number of tourists is from Southeast Asia,” he said in Menteng, Monday, August 27.
Andrew said that Indonesia is a potential market for Korean tourism. Therefore, the South Korea government held the 2018 Korea Travel Fair.
At present, said Andrew, Indonesian tourists visiting South Korea reached 98,000 people in six months. "We are targeting 200,000 Indonesian tourists to visit Korea by the end of the year,” he said.
The 2018 Korean Travel Fair will be held on from 31 August to 2 September 2018 at Kota Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta. Andrew said there would be 5,000 tour packages offered.
For the price, Andrew explained that the cheapest package would be at Rp8 million. It includes fees for flights and accommodations. “For the premium package, we offer the price at Rp15 million,” he said.
Andrew said for the premium package the tourists would stay in 5-star hotels and get special services, such as art show tickets and fancy dinners.
