TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party Chairperson Airlangga Hartarto said that Idrus Marham was no longer a Golkar central board (DPP) member.
“It is in accordance with our integrity pact. When a legal case occurs, the person concerned must resign,” Airlangga Hartarto said on Monday, August 27.
Idrus Marham proposed his resignation as the central board member of the Golkar Party, along with the day of his resignation as Minister of Social Affairs.
“This is a form of moral responsibility and my organization,” he said at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday, August 24.
Idrus resigned from the two positions, a day after the Corruption Eradication Commision (KPK) delivered a determination letter of suspect for him in a bribery case in the PLTU Riau-1 project.
“I did this resignation so I will not become a burden for the Golkar Party which is struggling to face elections, both legislative and presidential election,” Idrus said.
