TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) officially launched its contact center 136 today, August 15, to handle the public service.

The contact center would serve public information, the ministry’s permit issue, regulation, as well as information regarding geology disaster. However, it would not replace the existing call center program of PLN, Pertamina, and PGN.

“The service aimed to ease the public interaction with the ministry to be closer. Hopefully, the system will be advanced and the ministry will be better at catering to the community,” said ESDM Minister Ignasius Jonan today in the launching ceremony at the ESDM building, Central Jakarta.

The contact center will be available on Monday until Friday starting at 7 am to 5 pm. People can make a call to 136 and will be charged at local rates. If the officers cannot provide direct information or answer, the administrator will send an email or call within a day.

The communication and technology information system of ESDM Contact Center 136 was supported by Iconplus (ICON+), a subsidiary of PLN which overseeing the network provision, service, and telecommunication content.

The communication service of Energy Ministry was previously done via media social, such as Twitter under account @KementerianESDM, Facebook (Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral), Instagram (@kesdm), and YouTube (Kementerian ESDM).
