Democrat Decides to Support Prabowo-Sandiaga Uno

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Democrat Party decided to continue the coalition with the Gerindra Party, the National Mandate Party (PAN), and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and supported the Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno in the 2019 presidential election. The decision was made based on the meeting at the house of the Democrat Party Chairman Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in Kuningan, Jakarta, Friday morning, August 10.
“After several meetings with Pak Prabowo and the Gerindra Party, as well as with other supporting coalition parties, the Democrat Party meeting decided to support Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno,” said the party's Board of Trustees chair E.E. Mangindaan at SBY’s residence, Friday, August 10.

According to the Democrat Party, the decision will further strengthen the support for Prabowo and Sandiaga to win the 2019 presidential election. “At the same time, to guard the hope of Indonesian people,” he said.
Previously, Democrat did not attend the declaration made by Prabowo and Sandiaga at Prabowo’s residence in South Jakarta, on Thursday night, August 9.
