Jokowi to Launch GWK Statue Ahead of IMF-World Bank

TEMPO.CO Jakarta IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan said the project of GWK statue has reached 99 percent completion. “The construction project of GWK statue spends nearly 28 years, now we are waiting for the inauguration by President on September 22,” said Luhut on Wednesday, August 8.
All 735 sculpture modules had been installed by June 2018. A Hindus ritual Melaspas aimed at cleansing and purifying the completed building was held on August 8.
Aside from the Bali’s largest statue, several projects to support the IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting
