TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Transportation Agency rescued 12 ship`s crews of KM Makmur Timur boat that almost sank in the waters of Jakarta Bay.
Deputy Head of Jakarta Transportation Agency Sigit explained that KM Makmur Timur vessel experienced an engine failure in the waters of the Java Sea on July 28, at around 5:30 am. The ship was pulled to Muara Baru Port by KM Mahkota Jaya boat.
On the way to the port, KM Makmur Timur almost sank in the waters of Jakarta Bay at around 5:30 am. “The ship almost sank before reaching the Muara Baru Port,” Sigit said, Tuesday, August 7.
Sigit said that Jakarta Transportation Agency officers evacuated the 12 KM Makmur Timur ship’s crews in a safe condition. The ship has also been evacuated to Muara Baru Port.
