President Joko Widodo or Jokowi

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Secretary General from nine political parties supporting Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will discuss the structure of the success team for the 2019 Presidential Election. According to Ahmad Rofiq, Secretary General of the Indonesia Unity Party (Perindo), the discussion will not include names of the official of the success team.

“Until now, there have been no names. The discussion is more related to the proper structure for all of the supporting parties,” Rofiq said in Central Jakarta on Saturday, August 4, 2018.

Rofiq said that the meeting of the supporting parties' secretary general will draft the structure of the success team. Rofiq said that the success team will be established to house the nine parties, member of the Jokowi coalition.

Rofiq however, does not deny that later, the success team will be led by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) because PDI-P is the main supporter of Jokowi and the party with the largest vote in the House of Representatives.

"I think its just common sense if PDI-P should lead the coalition, but all other [supporting] parties would also like to be involved," Rofiq said.

The meeting of the secretary general of Jokowi's supporting party is the second to occur. The first meeting was held in Bogor Presidential Palace on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.
