TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Chairman of the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) Central Executive Board Ferry Juliantono, said that currently, Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto is in the process of making a decision on his vice presidential candidate for the upcoming 2019 Presidential Election.

"Starting from recommendations by the Ulema Meeting: Salim Sega Al Jufri from the Prosperity and Justice Party (PKS), and Ustadz Abdul Somad; Zulkifli Hasan from the National Mandate Party (PAN); and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono from Democrat Party," Ferry said in Jakarta on Saturday, August 4, 2018.

All suggestions and recommendations, according to Ferry, is being taken into consideration by Prabowo. "We hoped for your patience and support. By God's willing, the decision taken by Pak Prabowo can be approved by the coalition, ulema, and is the best option," Ferry said.

Ferry also expressed his optimism that the Prabowo coalition, which consists of Gerindra, PKS, PAN and Democrat Party, will remain solid in supporting Prabowo to run as presidential candidate. Ferry asserted that the bond within the coalition has been improving since 2014. "The same applies with Democrat Party which recently joined [the coalition]. Hopefully we can reach the same vision and make the coalition solid," Ferry said.
