TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Around 35 percent of Indonesian men have been actively shopping online, they do the transactions twice as much as women.

Country Brand Manager of Shopee, Rezki Yanuar said that one of the reasons is the price of goods that are purchased by men are relatively expensive.

“The average transaction for men is twice than women’s. Men know what they buy and the price is expensive,” he said at the launch of Shopee For Men in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The items in general purchased by men, which sit at top rank, are cell phones, men’s clothing and electronic home appliances.

When shopping online, men usually also tend to be more planned and are reluctant to spend a lot of time searching for items they want. When they find the item they want, men immediately make a purchase.

Regarding the price when shopping online, men usually do not bother too much because “Men have planned it and want it not to be complicated. Men know how fast they can get the items. Sometimes the price is not the main determinant,” Rezki said.
