TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An accidental shooting occurred at Soekarno - Hatta Airport and hit the right leg of a security guard who was on guard, Sunday, July 22. Ihkwanul Hakim Siregar, an officer of Gapura Angkasa suffered minor injuries on his lower right leg.

Senior Manager of Branch Communication and Legal of Soekarno - Hatta Airport, Febri Toga Simatupang, said the gun belonged to a police officer.

“Suddenly when the barrel was pulled, it was not known at the time that there was still one bullet left in the barrel room, resulting in an accidental shot that hit an officer,” said Febri on Sunday, July 22.

According to Febri, this incident occurred at 5:55 am this morning, when the First Police Brigadier Galuh Apriyana was checking First Police Brigadier Fajar Firmansyah who carried a Glock type pistol before sent out of town for duty. Fajar will fly to Banda Aceh using GA 140 Plane.

Onboarding at Soekarno - Hatta Airport at 05:55 am, Galuh assisted the departure process and the Glock was entrusted to the Garuda Item Security. The process of custody was done by emptying the bullet from the magazine and the barrel of the Glock. “Indeed, the SOP is that every legal weapon must be emptied before the flight,” said Febri.
