TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) said the performance of the Working Cabinet would be disrupted when a number of ministers register as the legislative candidates entering the campaign period.
“The campaign period definitely disrupts the working schedule,” JK said in his office, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 17.
However, the vice president said that it was fine since other officials can replace their positions temporarily.
Today, July 17, the Coordinating Minister for Human Empowerment and Culture Puan Maharani and Minister of Justice and Human Rights Yassona Laoly registered themselves to run in the legislative election. Both are proposed by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).
Jusuf Kalla (JK) claimed not to know about the ministers who register as legislative candidates. “I don’t know [about it]. The permission request is usually submitted to the president,” he said.
