TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mentioning the recent 2018 World Cup champion France would always divert our attention back to fashion as it houses notably known designers from brands such as Chanel, Dior, Hermes, and many more.
France’s reputation as the mecca for the global fashion industry had started since the 17th century under King Louis XIV who had a lavish lifedata-style and realized the importance of luxury items for the national economy that drove him to oversee the industry.
Here are the three most notable fashion brands in Paris:
1. Hermes
This brand is what bisnis.com reported on December 12, 2013, as the brand that sells most high-end handbags compared to other brands. Image wise, Hermes shines above the rest of the field.
Its sense of exclusivity that accompanies its outstanding price tag is mainly from the high quality materials that their products are made of, the designers that carefully crafts them by hand which eventually gives a sense for most people that Hermes is more than just an item but more of a work of art.
2. Chanel
This brand has been on the map since 1921 when the Chanel No. 5 perfume was introduced to the public in an art deco packaging that eventually became a symbol of a modern lady. The brand’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld revealed that the photo sessions for Chanel are done in-house at the House of Chanel that is located behind the Ritz in Paris, which has been a home for Coco Chanel for years.
3. Christian Dior
This A-listers’ favorite brand for multi-gender clothing, perfumes, and cosmetic, had just celebrated its 70th anniversary last year on July. Elle reported that the fashion show was considered to be one of the largest ever held in Paris.
The A-listers that use this product range from Charlize Theron, Carla Bruni, Marion Cottilard, up to United States First Lady Melania Trump who can be seen wearing it during her meeting with Queen Elizabeth in London several days ago.
