TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Founder of the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) Agency and former Indonesian president Bacharudin Jusuf Habibie, notably known as BJ Habibie, is scheduled to meet with President Joko `Jokowi` Widodo to discuss the country`s human resource in the research and technology sector.
"I will meet the President to discuss human resources. We truly need to rely on human resources that need a positive synergy with religion and an educational process where its output is produced from science and technology,” said third Indonesia's president at the BJ Habibie Technology Award (BJHTA) 2018 in Jakarta today, July 10.
Habibie said that every element must orientate on domestic production that can fund the process of excellence and general mutual partnerships. He reasoned that the country’s researchers and scientists need assistance from official mappings that can become their outline.
The professor believes that Indonesia has many competent human resources in numerous studies but are not active in the government. These people, he argued, must be formed as a team that can work together to further innovate technologically.
“The map is produced by the government such as from the House of Representatives (DPR), People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), political parties, and the National Research Board,” said Habibie.
He further elaborated that his upcoming discussion with President Jokowi will mostly talk about the need for a regional policy outline (GBHD), as the country has the state policy outline (GBHN) for the national scale.
Habibie also explained that someone with high-quality faith but lacking in the science and technology sector will be crippling in a society, however mastering science and technology without faith will pose a danger.
