TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - The Tangerang Police on Monday shot dead a drug dealer. The man was a dangerous recidivist who often went out of jail.
The police had to shot him because he attacked officers with a machete, resisting arrest.
The Tangerang Police Chief, Sr. Comr. Harry Kurniawan said that the drug dealer, AB, was arrested in his home in Karawaci. The officers seized 1 kilogram of heroin as evidence.
Harry said AB was a drug dealer with international networks. "His passport is still active. He just came back from Malaysia. He was a prisoner at Nusa Kambangan," Harry said on Monday at the RSUD Tangerang hospital's morgue.
Harry said that AB was a heroin drug supplier to a number of areas in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok Tangerang and Bekasi.
