Previously, the police revealed that the equanimity luxury yacht was seized as the main evidence of a Rp3.5 trillion money laundering scheme. The yacht was discovered at Tanjung Benoa in Bali after it was being hunted down by United States’ FBI for four years.

The Equanimity yacht is also suspected to be related to Malaysia's US$4.5 billion investment funds corruption known as the 1MDB case. The Indonesian police assisted US authorities after receiving an official FBI request on February 21.

Equanimity Cayman Ltd filed an official pretrial request for the confiscation on March 20 which questioned the legality of the confiscation. Judge Ratmoho said that Bareskrim did not legally confiscate the Equanimity yacht based on Constitution Law No. 1/2006.
