3 Guides to Prepare for Fasting Month Ramadan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fasting is a daily mandatory for Muslim during Ramadan. In less than a month and a half, the holy month will come in the mid-May of 2018.


Several plans such as mental and physical preparations are needed to welcoming the month. As reported from MyDeen, there are three preparations ahead of Ramadan, especially for mothers:


1. Preparing the physical health


Before entering the month of fasting, mothers should maintain their physical health as to avoid getting sick. For example, doing light exercise for 5 to 10 minutes every day.


Moreover, start to choose a healthy meal for the whole month. While in the meantime, try to adjust the food so that the body can easily adapt when the fasting starts. Avoid foods containing high fat, salt, and sugar and add more fruits, vegetables, rice, and whole grains to your diet. Lastly, do not forget to drink enough water every day.


2. Preparing the mental strength


Ramadan is a month full of rewards. From now on, it is best to start and routinely performing prayers. Prayer and reciting Qur'an will increase your mental strength ahead of Ramadan.


You may also invite your husband and children to pray together. This activity can help strengthen your family’s mental and build family togetherness before Ramadan.


3. Preparing the house


For mothers, preparing the house before Ramadan is the best option. You may start cleaning the house, reducing unnecessary items, and making a grocery list particularly foods that relatively have more lifespan.
