SBY Declares Support for Jokowi in 2019 Election

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo`s (Jokowi) attendance at the Democratic Party national leadership meeting or Rapimnas was met with enthusiasm. The meeting was held at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC)on Saturday, March 10.


President Jokowi walked side-by-side with Democratic Party chairman Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) into the SICC main hall. Behind them was party executive Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.

Bapak (Jokowi) is not just the head of state but also the leader of Indonesia, our leader,” said Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.


SBY continued to explain to the crowd that the Democratic Party would provide its utmost support for President Jokowi in the 2019 election. “We fully support for the 2019 General Election to run smooth, honest, fair, and democratic,” he said.


President Jokowi was accompanied by Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo, Coordinating Minister for Political, Law, and Security Affairs Wiranto, and Presidential Staff Coordinator Teten Masduki.
