TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Public Works and People’s Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said his team will improve coordination with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to make strong infrastructure.

According to him, preventive moves should take precedence compared to the aspects of post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction. Basuki said that risk reduction is focused on the time before the disaster.

The Expert Staff of PUPR for Development Integrity Adang Saf Ahmad said geographically, Indonesia is located in three meetings of tectonic plates. It makes Indonesia has a very strategic location and has abundant natural resources, but also prone to disasters.
