Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil Leaves Official Residence

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil has left his official residence in Pendopo as he contests for 2018 West Java Gubernatorial Election.
"The leave begins on February 12, therefore, we are no longer in office. We bear no mayoral responsibilities," Ridwan Kamil said in Pendopo, Bandung, on Saturday, Jan. 20.

Better known as Emil, he symbolically returned the key of the residence to Bandung Administration’s Secretary Yossi Irianto. As he left Pendopo, Emil and his wife, children, and mother, only carried a suitcase containing clothes and private belongings. Everything purchased using state funds stays in Pendopo.
Before he officially ends his term, Emil will still complete his duties in Pendopo. He reminded that the residence belongs to the people and anyone can access the residence.
In the meantime, Ridwan Kamil will rent two houses around Cipaganti area in Bandung. He will live in one house and the other house will be used for election purposes.
