BNPB Urges People to Remain Vigilant Following Java Quakes

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) urged people to remain alert to anticipate disaster in the wake of earthquake in Tasikmalaya, West Java.
"The frequency and intensity of disaster vary in types that dominate hydrometeorological disasters," Tasikmalaya BNPB head Willem Rampangilei said on Saturday (16/12)
He explained that the threat of potential disaster is not over after the 6.9 Richter earthquakes in Southwest Tasikmalaya on Friday night (15/12).
Regional government, he continued, and the people have to pay close attention to increase vigilance especially in wet season.
BNPB, he went on, will maintain coordination with Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to anticipate potential earthquake.
