E-KTP Graft: Prosecutors Seek 8 Years in Prison for Andi Narogong

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Prosecutors of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) are seeking eight years in prison and Rp1 billion fine with a subsidiary sentence of 6 months for Andi Narogong in the electronic ID cards (e-KTP) graft case.
“We have drawn a conclusion that defendant Andi Narogong is guilty of jointly participating in corruption activities,” said Mufti Nur Irawan, the public prosecutor of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), at the Corruption Court on December 7.
The prosecutors consider that the aggravating factors of Andi Narogong include the magnitude of the offense he committed and the impact felt by the public even to this day. In addition, Andi’s action has caused billions in state losses.

Meanwhile, the redeeming factors are the fact that the defendant has never been imprisoned, admitted his faults and promised not to repeat the offense, being honest at the trial hearings and is now a justice collaborator.
Presiding Judge Halasan Butar Butar has decided that the next trial session will be held on Thursday, December 14.
