TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian actor Iko Uwais will join Mark Wahlberg in Mile 22, following a successful performance in Star Wars: The Force Awaken.
“There’s a film titled Mile 22; I’ll be the choreographer and actor,” Iko Uwais said yesterday in South Jakarta.
Mile 22 scenes will be filmed in Indonesia. The film tells the story of a CIA agent played by Mark Wahlberg who is attempting to protect an informant in a travel from the downtown to an airport.
Iko Uwais will depart for the United States in the near future for pre-production process.
“Yes. We will start shooting the film in October, Insha Allah (by God's Will)… The film is directed by Peter Berg and I will perform together with Mark Wahlberg,” Iko Uwais said.
