TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) and the government have agreed to roll out an e-audit system for the 2017 Central Government Financial Report.

“It needs government support so that BPK auditors can directly access the state financial data,” BPK chairman Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara said at his office in Jakarta today, May 26.

Moermahadi said that the cooperation has been covered under a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

In addition, the BPK has also set up an information system to meet requirements under Law No. 15/2004, in which ministries and state agencies are required to submit responses related to BPK’s recommendations within 60 days.

“We hope that this system can be helpful,” he said.

The BPK earlier provided an opinion of reasonable without exception for the 2016 Central Government Financial Report. The score was the first one achieved by the government since 2004.

In the report, the number of ministries and state agencies awarded with the score increased from 65 in the previous year to 74.

The BPK also provided a score of reasonable with an exception for eight ministries and state agencies. Meanwhile, as many as 8 ministries and state agencies did not receive the opinion from the BPK.

Coordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution positively welcomes the e-audit system launched by the BPK.

“We fully support the MoU on the data access. Therefore, BPK auditors will be able to monitor data periodically,” he said.
